Get Ready for Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun!
We are so excited to have our wedding at the spectacular Secrets Capri ideally located in the beautiful Mayan Riviera. After visiting this all-inclusive adults-only resort on our “research” trip in January 2011, we knew right away that this was the place!
Ideally situated between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen with the overall feel of a boutique spa hotel in Italy (or at least what we think that would feel like), this all-suite resort has more than enough restaurant, bar, pool, and beach options to make these 80 degree days in November just about perfect! We feel the Capri stands worlds-apart from other all-inclusives. No buffet lines, house brands, or wristbands. This resort offers ultra luxurious accommodations, reservation-free a-la-carte dining options, 24-hour room service, evening entertainment, and basically unlimited everything !
Regarding restaurants, here’s the rundown. Savor a fusion of flavors in 6 gourmet restaurants offering Mediterranean, Continental, Seafood and Pan-Asian cuisine. The chefs use the freshest local ingredients and the finest imported delicacies to make every meal a true culinary experience. Your gourmet meals will be accompanied by premium brand wines and spirits. Of course, 24-hour room service is also available.
During the day, there so much more than just the pool! Dive, play tennis, work out, sail, surf or snorkel beneath the warmth of the Caribbean sun! Friendly instructors and state of the art equipment are not only available…they’re included. As darkness descends and crickets sing, follow their lead to savor a cigar at sunset or head to the heart of Playa del Carmen or Cancun for all the electrifying excitement of non-stop nightlife. Secrets Capri offers a wide variety of beach, land and water activities throughout each day, including kayaks, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, water aerobics, fitness, jogging, billiards, beach volleyball, tennis, and also other activities like casino gambling, which you can also do it online at the olympic kingsway casinos.
What should you wear? Well, you’re on vacation, so leave your suit at home! We’ve been to resorts similar to the Capri, and we’d wrap everything up into a new term “Classy Casual”. You’ll need little more than flip-flops and beach attire during the day regardless of where you go, and have something to simply take it up a notch at night. Everything is laid back, but you won’t be able to wear board shorts, sleeveless shirts, or beach sandals to the a’la carte restaurants for dinner. Guys need nothing more than a pair of khakis / “nice jeans” and a polo / casual button down shirt. Girls? Well, they’re smart… probably already got this figured out!

02.room rates
Almost too good to be true!
We have negotiated amazing rates for our wedding guests directly with the hotel. These rates are available to all guests from Monday, October 31st (Andy’s Birthday!) through Tuesday, November 8th (Wednesday departure). Check-in time is 3:00pm, and check-out time is 12:00pm.

To take advantage of this discounted pricing, you MUST book a minimum three night stay during the wedding block. Additionally, your reservation must be booked by September 10, 2011. This is a non-negotiable element of our hotel contract.
NOTE : The wedding block is officially closed. If you are still joining us and have not booked, please get in touch with one of us. There is a chance they will honor the rates if we contact them directly, but it can not be guaranteed. We recommend trying Bookit.com, Orbitz, or Expedia as alternate booking methods. Remember, this hotel is totally all-inclusive, so you won’t need to spend a dollar on any food, any beverage, or any group activity offered through the resort.
We would really love for everyone to stay at the Secrets Capri so that we can all enjoy a fun and relaxing weekend together. We specifically chose this all-inclusive resort so that everyone could spend time together without leaving the resort for food, liquor, or entertainment. We understand that people may prefer to stay elsewhere as there are a lot of hotel options in the area. Please note that if you do decide to stay at a different resort, a daily guest pass must be obtained to attend the wedding festivities on Saturday. 03.how to book
One web site, one code!
Booking is simple! Once you know what days you’d like to reserve (and be sure to check out the events we have planned by clicking here before making your decision), you have two options:
1) Book online using this link. You should see the group code of STEINBERG WED indicated on the form.
2) Download this form and fax it to us at 312-276-4939. We will then re-fax the form directly to the resort in Mexico.
Since we negotiated significantly better rates directly with the hotel than with a travel agent, it will not be possible to book a package deal that includes hotel, flight and transfers.

04.getting there
Bienviendo a Meixo!
First things first, you will need a valid passport (a passport card is not allowed) in order to travel to Mexico, no exceptions.
We recommend flying into Cancun International Airport (CUN). All international airlines have daily flights into this airport so there are many flights to chose from.
If you prefer to fly American Airlines, we have secured an AA booking discount, which anyone can use if they fly this airline for our wedding. The code is 14H1BD and it will save you a flat 5% off the lowest rates available on the AA website. This only applies to booking directly with the airline at www.aa.com, and is valid for travel between 10/29/11 and 11/12/11.
05.airport transfers
So, you made it to Cancun… Now what!
Secrets Capri is located less than 30 miles from the Cancun International Airport. You need to book a transfer from the airport to the resort ahead of time. We STRONGLY DISCOURAGE waiting until you arrive in Cancun to hire transportation to the hotel. You really can’t be sure that you are hiring a legitimate taxi company when negotiating at the airport and everyone’s safety is very important to us.
Since you will be booking your room directly with the resort as described above, you will also need to secure roundtrip transportation to and from CUN. To make things as easy as possible, we have negotiated a group rate with Cancun Airport Transportation Services at a 10% discount.
The roundtrip rates for private cars are as follows :
1-3 passengers = $100
4-7 passengers = $120
This rate is fixed per trip based on the number of passengers, so it is in you best interest to coordinate with others making the trip prior to booking a transfer. We are more than happy to help pair you with other guests to minimize costs, all you have to do is let us know your flight information.

06.travel notes
Is this a taxi ride, or a time share hustle?
There will likely be a long line to clear customs, so expect to wait anywhere from 10 – 60 minutes after you deplane.
After you clear customs and pick up your luggage you will need to navigate to Ground Transportation to leave the airport. There will be many vendors who will try to sell you taxis, excursions, and time shares – SAY NO THANK YOU and proceed outside to where the transportation companies pick up. Despite what the vendors may say, the only place you can check-in with your transportation company is outside.
