things to do

Clearly, you’ll want to experience more on your vacation than just our nuptials

If you’re looking for a full-day away from the resort, below is just a small sampling of what’s possible!  …and the best part?  All of these are offered in packages including transportation, and can be booked from the convenience of the activity desk in the lobby of the Capri!

  • 01.Xcaret

    www.xcaret.com

  • An eco park with underground rivers, beaches, lagoons, pools, stingrays, turtles, and butterflies, there’s plenty to experience at Xcaret… Whenever you ask anyone where to go to experience the natural wonders of the Yucatan Peninsula, the locals say this is the place… and it’s all less than 30 minutes from the resort!

Xcaret includes buffet lunches, towels, lockers, and is a favorite excursion of the locals!

  • 02.Xel-Ha

    www.xelha.com

  • Speaking from experience, Xel-Ha is an amazing place!  From the huge lagoons for snorkeling, to the jungle train, lazy-river, and opportunities to swim with dolphins and manatees, a day here truly lets you experience the awesome nature that the Mayan Riviera has to offer.

Xel-Ha has been called the world’s largest natural aquarium, and is an all-inclusive park!  Definitely one of the top tours the area has to offer!

  • 03.Tulum

    www.locogringo.com

  • Located about an hour from the Capri, you’ll find one of the two mystical Mayan ruins on the Yucatan.   But the beauty of Tulum is more than “just” the ruins that date back to AD 564… this entire city, that once played a major role in the Maya’s extensive trade network, is located on a bluff with views looking straight out to the Caribbean Sea!

Having trouble deciding what to do?  There also are great day trip options that bundle a trip to Talum with Xel-Ha!

  • 04.Chichen Itza

    www.chichenitza.com

  • Considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, this is the most famous, spectacular, and most frequently visited of Mexico’s Mayan sites!  There are dozens of ruins here built by the Maya… even an ancient and very impressive ball court.   Located a few hours from the hotel, the journey may seem far, but we did it… and very highly recommend it!  (And yes, souvenir pyramids are available at the gift shop)

  • 06.Cancun

    www.cancun.travel

  • Sure, you think Cancun, and you think Spring Break… and why wouldn’t you… (Carlos and Charlies or Coco Bongo, anyone?)  If you’re looking for the “Real Cancun experience”, the downtown area of is for you.  Located about 40 minutes north of the resort, you’ll find just all the food, drinks, nightlife, and shopping possible, including everyone’s favorites – CostCo, WalMart, Sams Club, and enough sombreros to make all your dreams come true!

  • 07.Playa Del Carmen

    www.iloveplaya.com

This is really one of our favorite places… Located only 20 minutes from the Capri, you’ll definitely want to experience what Playa Del Carmen has to offer.  Take Cancun, shrink it about 80%, add authentic local charm, trendy beach-side restaurants, galleries, and a cobble stone main street called Fifth Avenue smack-dab in the middle of it all, and you have the makings of a perfect day.  We’ve been there, loved it, and so will you!  (Sorry to say, we couldn’t find a good picture of us)

  • 08.Cozumel

    www.islacozumel.com.mx

An island located only a 30 minute ferry ride away from Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel is a tourist destination all to itself!  If you’re looking to shop, look no further… Cozumel is a cruise ship port serving up some of the best diamond and precious jewelry shopping deals in the Caribbean!  And if you must ask, this is where we’ll be spending a little “alone time” after getting married! And did we mention that right off the coast of Cozumel lays the second best place to Scuba diving in the world behind Australia’s Great Barrier Reef?

  • 09.Isla Mujeres

    http://www.isla-mujeres.net

  • Just a short boat ride from Cancún lies the Island of Women (Isla Mujeres). In Mayan times the island served as the sanctuary for the goddess Ixchel, the Mayan Goddess of fertility, reason, medicine and the moon. The temple was located to the south of the island. When the Spanish landed in 1517, they found many women shaped idols, and this is how Isla Mujeres got it’s name.  This island is beautiful!

A day trip to Isla Mujeres from Cancún offers a fun packed adventure, suitable for all ages. Upon arrival to the island you will disembark to our beach club for relaxation or activities.

We would recommend a snorkel tour where you will witness some of the most beautiful reef formations in the area. Equipment and guide are included.  Food is also included.

With so much to do, you might as well stay for the entire week!  Please get in touch with us if you have any questions on the area… We’ll do the best we can to point you in the right direction!
